How Do We Capture Data?

So many companies now understand how important it is to present their carbon emissions data, but a lot of this data is hard to access and hard to read. Every company presents data in a different structure with different units and different designations for their carbon emissions. We capture this data and streamline it for you to understand your supplier’s carbon footprint and commitment to mitigating their emissions. Here are our five steps!

Identify Reports: We first identify if a report meets our minimum requirements for extraction. It must have emissions data which can in some way be mapped to the GHG protocol.

Extract Data: Using cutting edge AI technology we search the documents for emissions data then extract it in its raw format. This preserves any important context to the data, this could be a table a chart or a paragraph of text.

Align Fields: There are a lot of ways to report emissions data and even when a company is following a particular reporting methodology there are thousands of ways to write “scope 1”. We have 30,000 fields mapped to the 27 standard categories

Validate: After reviewing over 100,000 documents we know what correct emissions data looks like. We check this model against the extracted data to ensure it is correct. We then append with UN, SBTi and CDP data where available.

Export: We can now deliver the emissions data into:

  • Our Web App
  • API
  • Zapier, Rows
  • Partner Apps
  • Your Data Lake
  • CSV
