The Banque De France, headquartered in FR and operating within the financial intermediation services sector (excluding insurance and pension funding), reported total emissions of approximately 26.8 billion kg CO2e for the year 2024. This figure encompasses Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. In 2024, Scope 1 emissions were approximately 9.75 billion kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions were about 5.07 billion kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions amounted to approximately 11.99 billion kg CO2e. In 2023, the bank's total emissions were approximately 33.99 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at about 10.03 billion kg CO2e, Scope 2 at approximately 5.01 billion kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at around 16.42 billion kg CO2e. The Banque De France has established several reduction initiatives. A near-term target aims to reduce GHG emissions across its scope of operations by at least 15% by 2024, relative to 2019 levels. The bank also reported Scope 3 investments emissions of 465 million kg CO2e for 2018 and 250 million kg CO2e for 2020.
