Sandvik, a Swedish Mining Machinery and Equipment Manufacturing company, reported approximately 8.3 billion kg CO2e in total emissions for 2025. This includes about 78.3 million kg CO2e from Scope 1 emissions, 84.2 million kg CO2e from Scope 2 (market-based), and approximately 8.1 billion kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions.

Sandvik is committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across its entire value chain by no later than 2050. These targets, validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in 2023, include a near-term objective to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 50% by 2030, from a 2019 base year. Furthermore, Sandvik aims to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 30% within the same timeframe. For the long-term, Sandvik is committed to reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 90% by 2040, and absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 90% by 2050, both from a 2019 base year.

Looking at their production units, Sandvik Rock Tools aims to achieve fully climate-neutral production in terms of Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2025. They also have a broader goal of achieving net-zero emissions for their own operations, heating, and power (Scope 1 and 2) by 2040.
