FrieslandCampina, a Dutch dairy products company, reported total Scope 1 emissions of 589,000,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of 1,000,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions of 16,804,000,000 kg CO2e in 2025. This includes approximately 15,226,000,000 kg CO2e from purchased goods and services within Scope 3.

Looking back, in 2024, FrieslandCampina's Scope 1 emissions were 644,000,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions were 2,000,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions were 17,090,000,000 kg CO2e. In 2023, Scope 1 emissions stood at 683,000,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions at 313,000,000 kg CO2e (location-based), and Scope 3 emissions at 17,489,000,000 kg CO2e.

FrieslandCampina has set ambitious climate commitments. The company aims to achieve net climate-neutral dairy by 2050. As part of its near-term targets, FrieslandCampina commits to reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 63% by 2030, using a 2015 baseline year. Additionally, the company is committed to reducing absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 37.5% within the same timeframe, with the target boundary including land-related emissions and removals from bioenergy feedstocks. These Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) commitments are cascaded from its ultimate parent, Koninklijke FrieslandCampina N.V. An updated SBTi target from January 2025 specifies a 42.13% reduction in absolute Scope 1, 2, and Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services by 2030 from a 2020 base year. For FLAG (Forest, Land use, Agriculture) emissions, a 30.3% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and 3 FLAG GHG emissions by 2030 from a 2020 base year is targeted, alongside a commitment to no deforestation across primary deforestation-linked commodities by December 31, 2025.
