Aquafil

Aquafil, based in Italy and operating in the other business services sector, reported total carbon emissions of approximately 1.037 billion kg CO2e in 2024. This includes 91.3 million kg CO2e from Scope 1 emissions, about 82.6 million kg CO2e from Scope 2 location-based emissions (or 13.3 million kg CO2e market-based), and roughly 932.5 million kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions. Key Scope 3 contributors include purchased goods and services (699.6 million kg CO2e) and end-of-life treatment of sold products (111.7 million kg CO2e).

In 2023, Aquafil's total emissions were approximately 976.2 million kg CO2e, with Scope 1 emissions at 61.7 million kg CO2e and Scope 2 market-based emissions at 12.1 million kg CO2e. Scope 3 emissions amounted to about 913.9 million kg CO2e for 2023.

Aquafil has demonstrated a commitment to reducing its environmental impact, achieving a 16% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions between 2021 and 2022. The company aims to reduce its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions to near zero by the middle of this decade (2023-2025). Furthermore, Aquafil has pledged to sign on to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) by 2025 and set emission-reduction targets aligned with the Paris Agreement's goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C.
