Cellnex, a Spanish post and telecommunication services company, reported total carbon emissions of approximately 608 million kg CO2e in 2025. This included about 5.1 million kg CO2e from Scope 1 emissions, 27.7 million kg CO2e from market-based Scope 2 emissions (or 288.9 million kg CO2e from location-based Scope 2 emissions), and approximately 603.1 million kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions. Key contributors to Scope 3 emissions were upstream transportation and distribution (approximately 549.8 million kg CO2e) and capital goods (approximately 385.7 million kg CO2e).

Looking back, their total emissions were about 824.3 million kg CO2e in 2024, consisting of roughly 4.9 million kg CO2e (Scope 1), 15.6 million kg CO2e (market-based Scope 2), and 803.7 million kg CO2e (Scope 3). In 2023, Cellnex's total emissions were around 456.9 million kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at about 5.1 million kg CO2e, market-based Scope 2 at approximately 37.1 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at roughly 414.7 million kg CO2e.

Cellnex has set ambitious climate commitments, validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The company aims for net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2050. Near-term targets include reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 70% by 2030, from a 2020 base year. They also commit to increasing annual sourcing of renewable electricity from 10% in 2020 to 100% by 2025 and maintaining this through 2030. Furthermore, Cellnex plans for 82% of its suppliers and customers (by emissions covering purchased goods and services, capital goods, and downstream leased assets) to have science-based targets by 2030. For Scope 3, they commit to reducing absolute emissions from purchased goods and services and capital goods by 21% by 2025, from a 2020 base year. Long-term goals include a 90% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2050, and a 90% reduction in absolute Scope 3 emissions within the same timeframe, all against a 2020 base year.
