HMD Global, a Finnish company in the Electrical machinery and apparatus n.e.c. industry, reported its total greenhouse gas emissions for 2023 as approximately 571,091,000 kg CO2e. This includes Scope 1 emissions of 3,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of 449,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions of 570,639,000 kg CO2e. Key contributors to Scope 3 emissions were purchased goods and services at 471,028,000 kg CO2e and use of sold products at 70,540,000 kg CO2e.

For 2022, HMD Global reported total emissions of approximately 672,374,000 kg CO2e, followed by approximately 1,173,823,000 kg CO2e in 2021. In 2020, total emissions were around 24,059,000 kg CO2e, with Scope 2 emissions from purchased electricity at 174,672,000 kg CO2e and Scope 3 emissions from purchased goods and services at 987,706,000 kg CO2e.

HMD Global Oy is committed to reducing absolute Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services by 42% by 2030, using a 2022 base year. The company is also working towards achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, as recognised by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
