Jacobs, a US-headquartered "Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction" company, reported total emissions of approximately 146.45 million kg CO2e in 2024. This figure includes Scope 1 emissions of around 15.34 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions (location-based) of approximately 19.73 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions totalling about 129.37 million kg CO2e.

Their climate commitments include several Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validated goals:

• Near-term targets: Jacobs aims to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 50% by 2030, using a 2019 baseline year. Additionally, they commit to reducing absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from business travel and employee commuting by 50% over the same timeframe. They also target having 65% of their suppliers by spend, covering purchased goods and services, with science-based targets by 2025.
• Long-term targets: Jacobs commits to reduce absolute Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions by 90% by 2040 from a 2019 base year. This also aligns with their overall net-zero target to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain by 2040.

Jacobs has also signed The Climate Pledge in 2023.
