TÜV SÜD, an Engineering Services company headquartered in Germany, reported total carbon emissions of approximately 300,250 tonnes CO2e in 2025. This includes about 33,017 tonnes CO2e from Scope 1, approximately 37,479 tonnes CO2e from Scope 2 (market-based), and roughly 229,753 tonnes CO2e from Scope 3 emissions.

TÜV SÜD has set ambitious climate commitments, with its Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) targets cascaded from its ultimate parent, TÜV SÜD AG. The company aims for net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2050.

Near-term targets, with a 2023 base year, include:

• A 42% absolute reduction in Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2030.
• A 25% absolute reduction in Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services, capital goods, upstream transportation and distribution, and business travel by 2030.

Long-term targets, also from a 2023 base year, aim for:

• A 90% absolute reduction in Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2050.
• A 90% absolute reduction in Scope 3 GHG emissions by 2050.

TÜV SÜD also states its intention to operate at net-zero for business operations (Scope 1, 2, and Scope 3 business travel) from 2025, with any remaining emissions being offset through certified compensation projects. Furthermore, the company aims to reduce its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions to near zero by the middle of this decade.
