Looking back, Bukit Asam's emissions have shown a general upward trend, with reported totals of approximately 1.09 billion kg CO2e in 2024, 1.03 billion kg CO2e in 2023, and 828.91 million kg CO2e in 2022. For 2021, total emissions were around 558.04 million kg CO2e. In 2020, the company reported Scope 1 emissions of 386.53 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of 84.20 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions from business travel at 12,630 kg CO2e. It should be noted that certain Scope 3 categories, such as purchased goods and services, are missing from the reported data across these years.

Bukit Asam has established near-term net-zero reduction commitments for both Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, targeting the period between 2023 and 2025.
