• 2019: Scope 1 emissions were approximately 264.6 million kg CO2e, and Scope 2 emissions were approximately 324.2 million kg CO2e. Scope 3 data was not disclosed for this year.
• 2018: Scope 1 emissions were approximately 267.3 million kg CO2e, and Scope 2 emissions were approximately 354.7 million kg CO2e. Scope 3 data was not disclosed for this year.

Climate Commitments and Reduction Targets:

Chi Mei has established ambitious climate targets, aligning with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and their own group-level goals.

• Net-Zero Target: The company commits to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2050, using 2021 as a base year.
• Long-Term Reduction Targets (by 2050 from 2021 base year):
  • A significant reduction of 90% in absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
  • A reduction of 90% in absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions.
• Near-Term Reduction Targets (by 2030 from 2021 base year):
  • A reduction of 42% in absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions.
  • A reduction of 25% in absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions, specifically from purchased goods and services and the processing of sold products.

These targets, particularly the near-term ones, are considered consistent with limiting global warming to 1.5°C. The target boundary includes land-related emissions and removals from bioenergy feedstocks.
