In 2024, CRH plc reported total carbon emissions of approximately 47.1 billion kg CO2e, comprising 27.2 billion kg CO2e from Scope 1, 2.5 billion kg CO2e from Scope 2, and 17.4 billion kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions. The company has set ambitious climate commitments, aiming to reduce gross Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 33.5% per tonne of cementitious product by 2030, using 2021 as the baseline year. Additionally, CRH is committed to a 42% reduction in absolute gross Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions from other activities by 2030, also from a 2021 base year.
