Prosegur, headquartered in Spain, reported total gross global emissions of approximately 763.78 million kg CO2e in 2024. This includes Scope 1 emissions of about 173.53 million kg CO2e, market-based Scope 2 emissions of approximately 10.86 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions of about 579.40 million kg CO2e. Key categories within Scope 3 emissions for 2024 included purchased goods and services (approximately 238.21 million kg CO2e), use of sold products (approximately 156.24 million kg CO2e), and fuel and energy related activities (about 46.40 million kg CO2e). Prosegur's emissions data is inherited from its parent company, Prosegur Compañía de Seguridad, S.A.

In 2023, Prosegur's Scope 1 emissions were approximately 162.26 million kg CO2e, and location-based Scope 2 emissions were about 10.31 million kg CO2e. For 2022, Scope 1 emissions were around 150.84 million kg CO2e, and Scope 2 emissions were about 13.21 million kg CO2e.

Prosegur has committed to several climate reduction targets. The company aims for carbon neutrality for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2040 and net-zero emissions across all scopes, including Scope 3, by 2050. Near-term targets include a 50% reduction in Scope 1 emissions and a 50% reduction in Scope 2 emissions by 2030, both from a 2020 baseline. The company also aims to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions to near zero by 2025.

Additionally, Prosegur set a target for its Cash business to achieve a 1.5% reduction in direct Scope 1 and Scope 2 CO2 emissions from its armoured fleet by 2020, compared to 2019. Prosegur Security and Prosegur Alarms aim for a 5% reduction in Scope 1 emissions between 2021 and 2023 through fleet efficiency improvements. Prosegur Cash also expects to reduce Scope 2 emissions by 10% between 2021 and 2023, with a goal to acquire green energy in all its geographic areas. Between 2019 and 2020, Prosegur reduced its overall CO2 emissions by 10% within a constant perimeter. More recently, between 2023 and 2024, Prosegur achieved a 4.13% reduction in Scope 1 greenhouse gas emissions and a 3.88% reduction in location-based Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions.
