Quilter, a financial intermediation services provider headquartered in Great Britain, has outlined its climate commitments and emissions data. For the reporting year 2024, Quilter reported total absolute emissions of approximately 29.4 billion kg CO2e. This includes Scope 1 emissions of about 354,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 2 emissions (market-based) of approximately 629,000 kg CO2e. Significant contributions to their emissions come from Scope 3, with purchased goods and services accounting for approximately 24.5 billion kg CO2e in 2024.

In 2023, Quilter's total emissions were approximately 25.9 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at around 343,000 kg CO2e and Scope 2 (market-based) at about 867,000 kg CO2e. Scope 3 emissions, primarily from purchased goods and services, totalled approximately 20.8 billion kg CO2e.

Looking at earlier data, in 2022, Quilter reported total emissions of approximately 36.1 billion kg CO2e, comprising Scope 1 emissions of 438,000 kg CO2e and Scope 2 emissions (market-based) of 562,000 kg CO2e. Scope 3 emissions were substantial at approximately 34.7 billion kg CO2e, with investments being a notable category within this scope.

For 2021, Quilter's Scope 3 emissions were approximately 67.9 billion kg CO2e. The company has disclosed Scope 1 and 2 data for 2017-2020, with total Scope 1 and 2 emissions ranging from approximately 2.88 billion kg CO2e in 2019 to around 3.67 billion kg CO2e in 2018.

Regarding reduction initiatives, Quilter has a stated commitment to cut absolute emissions by 40% by 2025, with a target year of 2020. They also aim to become ‘fossil fuel free’ by 2035. These targets are in place for Scope 1 emissions.
