This figure comprises approximately 39,800,000 kg CO2e for Scope 1, about 700,000 kg CO2e for Scope 2, and approximately 149,300,000 kg CO2e for Scope 3. Key contributors to Scope 3 emissions include purchased goods and services (around 101,900,000 kg CO2e) and employee commute (approximately 23,600,000 kg CO2e).

Looking at previous years, Randstad's total emissions for 2024 were approximately 203,700,000 kg CO2e, with Scope 1 accounting for about 46,900,000 kg CO2e and Scope 3 for approximately 155,900,000 kg CO2e. Randstad is committed to the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and has pledged to achieve Net Zero by 2050. The company aims for a 50% absolute reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030, compared to 2019 levels. Furthermore, Randstad is targeting a 30% absolute reduction in Scope 3 emissions by 2030, also relative to a 2019 baseline. Additional targets include a 57.2% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2030 from a 2019 base year, and a 30% reduction in absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services within the same timeframe. Longer-term, Randstad aims for a 90% reduction in absolute Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions by 2050, using 2019 as the baseline. Some reports also indicate a commitment to reducing Scope 1 emissions by 30% and Scope 2 emissions by 30% by 2030 from a 2020 baseline.
