In 2025, the company reported total emissions of approximately 189.9 million kg CO2e. This figure is comprised of approximately 39.8 million kg CO2e from Scope 1, roughly 700,000 kg CO2e from Scope 2, and approximately 149.3 million kg CO2e from Scope 3.

Looking at previous years, Randstad's total emissions in 2024 were approximately 203.7 million kg CO2e, with Scope 1 emissions at about 46.9 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 at approximately 900,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at roughly 155.9 million kg CO2e. In 2023, total emissions stood at approximately 238.5 million kg CO2e, including Scope 1 at about 57.4 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 at approximately 1.2 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at around 179.9 million kg CO2e. In 2022, total emissions were approximately 226.1 million kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at about 59.7 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 at approximately 1.8 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at roughly 164.6 million kg CO2e.

Randstad is committed to achieving Net Zero by 2050, having pledged to the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) Business Ambition for the 1.5°C pathway. As part of its near-term goals, the company aims for a 50% absolute reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030, benchmarked against 2019 levels. Furthermore, Randstad targets a 30% absolute reduction in its Scope 3 emissions by 2030, also compared to 2019. Some reports indicate a commitment to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 57.2% and Scope 3 emissions by 30% by 2030, from a 2019 base year. The company also aims to reduce Scope 3 emissions from business travel and employee commuting by 46.2% within the same timeframe. Long-term, Randstad aims for a 90% reduction in absolute Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions by 2050 from a 2019 base year. Certain regional targets, such as achieving Net Zero in Germany by 2038, are also in place.
