Randstad, a Temporary Help Services company headquartered in the Netherlands, reported its total carbon emissions for 2025 as approximately 189,900,000 kg CO2e. This includes about 39,800,000 kg CO2e from Scope 1 emissions, 700,000 kg CO2e from Scope 2 emissions (from purchased heat), and 149,300,000 kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions. Key contributors to Scope 3 emissions were purchased goods and services (101,900,000 kg CO2e), employee commute (23,600,000 kg CO2e), business travel (9,600,000 kg CO2e), and fuel and energy-related activities (7,400,000 kg CO2e).

Looking back, Randstad's total emissions were approximately 203,700,000 kg CO2e in 2024, and 238,500,000 kg CO2e in 2023. In 2019, their total emissions were about 298,100,000 kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at 76,100,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 at 22,300,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at 199,700,000 kg CO2e.

Randstad has made significant climate commitments, with all targets sourced directly from Randstad N.V. The company has committed to the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) Business Ambition for the 1.5°C pledge, aiming for Net Zero by 2050 across its entire value chain.

Near-term targets include:

• A 50% absolute reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 CO2e emissions by 2030, compared to a 2019 baseline. SBTi further specifies a 57.2% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2030 from a 2019 base year.
• A 30% absolute reduction in Scope 3 CO2e emissions by 2030, compared to a 2019 baseline. Specifically, SBTi targets a 30% reduction in Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services and a 46.2% reduction from business travel and employee commuting within the same timeframe.

Long-term, Randstad aims for a 90% absolute reduction in Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions by 2050 from a 2019 base year, in line with its Net Zero by 2050 ambition.

Additionally, Randstad Germany aims to achieve Net Zero by 2038, with targets to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by at least 57% and Scope 3 emissions by at least 57% by 2030 (from a 2023 baseline).
