Uflex's reported carbon emissions

Uflex, headquartered in India and operating within the paper and paper products industry, has reported its carbon emissions for various fiscal years. For the fiscal year 2025, the company reported a total of approximately 3.25 billion kg CO2e across Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. This includes approximately 206.2 million kg CO2e for Scope 1, approximately 398.3 million kg CO2e for Scope 2, and approximately 2.64 billion kg CO2e for Scope 3. For the fiscal year 2024, Uflex reported a total of approximately 1.62 billion kg CO2e. This comprised approximately 57.6 million kg CO2e for Scope 1 and approximately 181.0 million kg CO2e for Scope 2 emissions. Scope 3 emissions for this year were approximately 1.39 billion kg CO2e, though specific categories like purchased goods and services, fuel and energy-related activities, and upstream transportation and distribution were noted as missing data points. In the fiscal year 2023, Scope 1 emissions were approximately 54.0 million kg CO2e, and Scope 2 emissions were approximately 163.4 million kg CO2e. Scope 3 emissions data was not disclosed for this period. Similar to the previous year, Scope 3 data points were not available. Uflex has established several climate commitments and reduction targets. A significant near-term goal is to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 80% by 2030, using 2019 as a baseline. The company also aims to lower CO2 emissions by 40% per vehicle kilometre for its trucks and buses by 2030. Furthermore, Uflex is working towards becoming carbon neutral by 2030 and has a long-term commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. These efforts include converting its thermopacks, boilers, and gensets to run on piped natural gas. The company is also undertaking initiatives such as signing power purchase agreements for solar power to reduce its carbon footprint, with an estimated reduction of approximately 19,000 tCO2e from a solar power agreement for its Dharwad plant.
