Uflex

Uflex, headquartered in India and operating in the Paper and paper products industry, has reported its carbon emissions and outlined several climate commitments.

Carbon Emissions:

For the fiscal year 2025, Uflex reported total global greenhouse gas emissions of approximately 3.25 billion kg CO2e. This figure comprises:

• Scope 1 emissions: Approximately 206.21 million kg CO2e, primarily from stationary combustion.
• Scope 2 emissions: Approximately 398.30 million kg CO2e.
• Scope 3 emissions: Approximately 2.64 billion kg CO2e, with significant contributions from purchased goods and services (about 650.92 million kg CO2e) and processing of sold products (about 752.39 million kg CO2e).

In fiscal year 2024, Uflex's total global emissions were approximately 1.62 billion kg CO2e, consisting of:

• Scope 1 emissions: Approximately 57.65 million kg CO2e.
• Scope 2 emissions: Approximately 181.03 million kg CO2e.
• Scope 3 emissions: Approximately 1.39 billion kg CO2e.

For fiscal year 2023, the company reported Scope 1 emissions of approximately 53.98 million kg CO2e and Scope 2 emissions of approximately 163.42 million kg CO2e. Scope 3 emissions for this year were not disclosed.

In fiscal year 2022 and 2023 (corresponding to reporting years 2022 and 2023 respectively), Uflex reported combined Scope 1 and 2 emissions of approximately 189.88 million kg CO2e.

Climate Commitments and Reduction Initiatives:

Uflex has established several targets and is undertaking initiatives to reduce its environmental impact. Key commitments include:

• Net-Zero Ambition: Uflex is progressing towards achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, with targets aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
• Scope 1 & 2 Emissions Reduction: The company aims to reduce its Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 80% by 2030, compared to a 2019 baseline.
• Fleet Emissions Intensity Reduction: Uflex is working to lower CO2 emissions per vehicle kilometre for its trucks and buses by 40% by 2030.
• Renewable Energy Adoption: Uflex has converted its Thermopacks, Boilers, and Gensets to run on PNG (Piped Natural Gas). Additionally, the company has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for solar power for its plant in Dharwad, Karnataka, which is expected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 19,000 tonnes CO2e annually.
