Ramsay Health Care's climate commitments and emissions data highlight its efforts to reduce its environmental impact within the Health and social work services industry.

For 2025, Ramsay Health Care reported Scope 1 emissions of 88,711,000 kg CO2e and Scope 2 market-based emissions of 129,225,000 kg CO2e. For 2024, the company's Scope 1 emissions were 87,572,000 kg CO2e (including 31,544,000 kg CO2e from fugitive emissions and 56,028,000 kg CO2e from stationary combustion), Scope 2 market-based emissions were 143,100,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions were 8,174,000 kg CO2e. In 2023, Ramsay Health Care reported Scope 1 emissions of 56,963,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of 24,922,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions of 193,860,000 kg CO2e.

Ramsay Health Care has set ambitious Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) commitments. The company has committed to reaching net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by FY2040. Its near-term targets include reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42% by FY2030, from a FY2020 base year. Additionally, 80% of its suppliers by spend, covering purchased goods and services and capital goods, are committed to having science-based targets by FY2028. For long-term targets, Ramsay Health Care aims to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 90% by FY2040 from a FY2020 base year, and absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services, capital goods, fuel- and energy-related activities, and waste generated in operations by 90% by FY2040 from a FY2023 base year. These targets are classified as consistent with reductions required to keep warming to 1.5°C.

The company has also set internal document reduction targets, aiming for a 42% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2027 (from a 2020 baseline), and is reportedly on track for a 42% emissions reduction by FY2030. The Ramsay Santé group, part of Ramsay Health Care, has a specific target to reduce its GHG emissions by 30% by 2030 compared to 2020.
