ACCIONA, a Spanish company in the Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction industry, reported its most recent full emissions data for 2025. Total emissions for 2025 were approximately 3.59 billion kg CO2e, comprising Scope 1 emissions of about 197 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of about 8.12 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions of roughly 3.43 billion kg CO2e.

The company has set several ambitious climate commitments:

• Near-term targets (approved by SBTi): ACCIONA commits to reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 60% by 2030 from a 2017 base year. They also commit to reducing absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services, capital goods, fuel and energy-related activities, upstream transportation and distribution, employee commuting, and use of sold products by 47% within the same timeframe, using a 2017 base year.
• Long-term targets (approved by SBTi): ACCIONA aims to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 90% by 2040 from a 2017 base year. Furthermore, they commit to reducing absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 90% by 2050 from a 2017 base year.
• Net-Zero Commitment (approved by SBTi): ACCIONA commits to reaching net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its entire value chain by 2050. They specifically aim for Net Zero Carbon in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2040, and for Scope 3 emissions by 2050. The company also aims to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions to near zero by 2025.
