Scope 3 emissions in 2019 were broken down into categories including purchased goods and services (approximately 163,399,000 kg CO2e), downstream transportation and distribution (approximately 74,424,000 kg CO2e), and use of sold products (approximately 60,976,000 kg CO2e).

Bio-Rad has established climate commitments, aiming to reduce its Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon emissions by 46% from a 2019 baseline by 2030. This target has been updated to 46.2% in subsequent reports. The company has not disclosed specific data for Scope 3 emissions in recent years, noting missing data points for categories such as purchased goods and services, business travel, and employee commute.
