For 2023, its Scope 1 emissions were 10,563,000 kg CO2e and Scope 2 market-based emissions were 13,920,000 kg CO2e. In 2022, Bio-Rad's Scope 1 emissions were 11,631,000 kg CO2e and Scope 2 market-based emissions were 14,029,000 kg CO2e. The company did not disclose Scope 3 emissions for 2024, 2023, or 2022, noting missing data points for categories such as purchased goods and services, business travel, and employee commute.

However, in 2019, Bio-Rad reported comprehensive emissions data, including Scope 1 emissions of 18,420,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 market-based emissions of 13,615,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions totalling 314,454,000 kg CO2e. Key Scope 3 categories for 2019 included purchased goods and services at 163,399,000 kg CO2e, downstream transportation and distribution at 74,424,000 kg CO2e, and use of sold products at 60,976,000 kg CO2e.

Bio-Rad has committed to reducing its Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon emissions by 46.2% from a 2019 baseline by 2030.
