BW Group

BW Group, headquartered in BM and operating in sea and coastal water transportation services, has disclosed its carbon emissions for recent years. For the reporting year 2024, BW Group reported Scope 1 emissions of approximately 1,368,810,000 kg CO2e and Scope 2 emissions of about 30,000 kg CO2e. In 2023, Scope 1 emissions were approximately 1,420,060,000 kg CO2e, with Scope 2 emissions at about 40,000 kg CO2e. The preceding year, 2022, saw Scope 1 emissions of approximately 1,265,450,000 kg CO2e and Scope 2 emissions of around 70,000 kg CO2e.

BW Group is committed to aligning with the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) environmental goals. These include achieving a 40% reduction in carbon intensity by 2030 and a 50% reduction in total annual greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050, both compared to 2008 levels. The company is also working towards a 20% reduction in emissions by 2030 (baseline 2008), with an ultimate target of net zero by 2050.
