CommScope, a US-based manufacturer of radio and television broadcasting and wireless communications equipment, reported total carbon emissions of approximately 2.49 billion kg CO2e in 2024. This figure comprises 38.18 million kg CO2e from Scope 1 emissions, 79.81 million kg CO2e from Scope 2 emissions (market-based), and 2.37 billion kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions.

In 2023, CommScope's total carbon emissions were approximately 3.48 billion kg CO2e, including 43.23 million kg CO2e from Scope 1, 86.00 million kg CO2e from Scope 2 (market-based), and 3.35 billion kg CO2e from Scope 3. Looking further back, their total emissions in 2022 were about 5.00 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at 60.62 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 (market-based) at 101.55 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at 4.84 billion kg CO2e.

CommScope has set several climate commitments. The company achieved a 41.2% reduction in its Scope 1 and 2 location-based GHG emissions in 2024 compared to a 2019 baseline. They also previously aimed to reduce Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by at least 2% by year-end 2022 and by at least 4% by year-end 2023, both against their 2019 baseline. They successfully achieved their 4% Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions reduction target in 2023 against the 2019 base year.

CommScope (through its corporate family member AG Communications Ltd) also has Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) approved targets. They commit to reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 42% by 2030 from a 2022 base year. Additionally, they commit to measuring and reducing their Scope 3 emissions and to reach net-zero by 2045, which includes a 90% reduction in Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by 2045 from a 2022 base year. These targets were approved using a streamlined validation route exclusive to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).
