Commscope

Commscope, a US-based company in the Radio and Television Broadcasting and Wireless Communications Equipment Manufacturing industry, reported total emissions of approximately 2.49 billion kg CO2e in 2024. This includes around 38.18 million kg CO2e from Scope 1 emissions, 79.81 million kg CO2e from market-based Scope 2 emissions (or 85.66 million kg CO2e from location-based Scope 2 emissions), and approximately 2.37 billion kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions.

In 2023, Commscope's total emissions were approximately 3.48 billion kg CO2e, comprising around 43.23 million kg CO2e for Scope 1, 86.00 million kg CO2e for market-based Scope 2 (or 94.68 million kg CO2e for location-based Scope 2), and approximately 3.35 billion kg CO2e for Scope 3.

Comparing 2024 to 2023, there was a reduction in total emissions from approximately 3.48 billion kg CO2e to 2.49 billion kg CO2e. This represents a significant decrease.

Commscope has set several climate commitments. They achieved a 4% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by year-end 2023, measured against a 2019 baseline. Furthermore, they achieved a 42.1% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2024 compared to their 2019 baseline. Specifically, their Scope 1 and 2 location-based emissions in 2024 saw a 41.2% reduction against their 2019 base year, totalling 123,837 metric tons of CO2e (equivalent to approximately 123.84 million kg CO2e).

Commscope has also set Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) approved targets, inherited from AG Communications Ltd. These include a commitment to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 42% by 2030 from a 2022 base year. They also commit to measure and reduce Scope 3 emissions and aim to reach net-zero by 2045, with a target to reduce Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by 90% by 2045 from a 2022 base year.
