Fidelidade's climate commitments and emissions data are cascaded from its ultimate parent, Fidelidade - Companhia de Seguros, S.A.

In 2024, Fidelidade reported total emissions of approximately 1.2 billion kg CO2e. This included 7.5 million kg CO2e from Scope 1, 10.5 million kg CO2e from Scope 2 (market-based), and approximately 1.19 billion kg CO2e from Scope 3. A significant portion of Scope 3 emissions, about 1.13 billion kg CO2e, came from investments.

Looking ahead to 2025, Fidelidade projects Scope 1 emissions to be around 9.5 million kg CO2e and Scope 2 (location-based) emissions to be approximately 7.0 million kg CO2e.

Fidelidade has set a long-term goal to achieve CO2 neutrality by 2050, requiring significant behavioural changes and energy demand reduction. The company aims for net-zero emissions in its own operations by 2040, aligned with science-based targets for Scope 1, 2, and Scope 3 (business travel) emissions to limit global warming to 1.5°C in line with the Paris Agreement. Furthermore, Fidelidade has a near-term target to reduce emissions per employee by 50% by 2030, using 2022 as a baseline.
