Additionally, Tereos is working to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 50% by the 2032-2033 campaign, based on a 2022 baseline. More specifically, they target a 30% reduction in both Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions from a 2020 baseline by 2030. In Europe, they aim for a 30% reduction in CO2 emissions (Scope 1 and 2) compared to 2015 levels by 2030. Tereos also plans to withdraw from coal for all its dehydration units by 2030, which will impact Scope 1 and 2 emissions.
For Scope 3, Tereos aims to reduce GHG emissions from their agricultural activities by 18% compared with 2023 levels by the end of 2025, by guaranteeing 100% of their supply of non-deforesting agricultural raw materials. Tereos Sugar & Energy Brazil (TSEB) has a specific target to reduce Scope 1 and 2 CO2 emissions by 4.84% by 2026, against the average results for 2019 and 2020.
