This included about 58.5 million kg CO2e from Scope 1 emissions, 5.9 million kg CO2e from Scope 2 market-based emissions, and approximately 407.2 million kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions.

In 2024, the company's Scope 1 emissions were approximately 63.8 million kg CO2e, and its Scope 2 market-based emissions were about 7.5 million kg CO2e. For 2023, Whitbread Court reported Scope 1 emissions of approximately 65.1 million kg CO2e and Scope 2 market-based emissions of about 8.0 million kg CO2e.

Whitbread PLC has set ambitious climate commitments. The company aims for net-zero carbon emissions across its value chain by 2050. This target is supported by Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validated goals. Additionally, Whitbread commits to reduce absolute Scope 1 GHG emissions by 84.1% by FY2030 from a FY2017 base year, absolute Scope 2 GHG emissions by 84.1% by FY2030 from a FY2017 base year, and absolute Scope 3 FLAG GHG emissions by 36.4% by FY2030 from a FY2019 base year.
