In 2023, total emissions were approximately 56.8 billion kg CO2e, including Scope 1 at about 127.4 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 market-based at around 379.2 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at approximately 56.3 billion kg CO2e.

The Group has outlined several climate commitments. Geely Auto aims to cut 25% of its total carbon emissions by 2025, using a 2020 baseline, and achieve carbon neutrality by 2045. Additionally, there is a target to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 30% from a 2020 baseline by 2025. Volvo Cars has set a goal to reduce CO2 emissions by 40% over the life cycle of each vehicle between 2018 and 2025. Geely also aims to achieve zero carbon emissions in all stages of product design, manufacturing, automotive use, shared transport, and material recovery, with a long-term target potentially extending to 2050. A net-zero emissions goal has also been stated for 2030.

The company is working to reduce the lifecycle carbon emissions per vehicle by more than 25% from a 2020 baseline. While Scope 3 data for 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, and 2016 is less comprehensive, Scope 1 and 2 emissions were reported for these years, with total figures for Scope 1 and 2 in 2021 amounting to approximately 1.13 billion kg CO2e.
