This comprised about 7.2 billion kg CO2e in Scope 1 emissions, approximately 424 million kg CO2e in Scope 2 emissions (location-based), and roughly 2.6 billion kg CO2e in Scope 3 emissions. In the preceding year, 2022 (reflecting data for 2023), total emissions were approximately 11.4 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 accounting for about 7.3 billion kg CO2e, Scope 2 around 386 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 approximately 3.6 billion kg CO2e. Cementir Holding is committed to significant climate action. The company aims to reduce its Scope 1 emissions intensity to less than 500 kg of CO2 per ton of grey cement by 2030, a reduction from 684 kg in 2021. Additionally, Cementir is working towards a 25% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions per ton of cementitious product by 2030, using 2020 as a baseline.
