Danaher Corporation, a US-based leader in Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, has outlined ambitious climate commitments and reported significant emissions data.

For the reporting year 2024, Danaher reported a total of approximately 3.82 billion kg CO2e emissions. This included approximately 112.04 million kg CO2e for Scope 1 emissions and approximately 107.37 million kg CO2e for Scope 2 emissions (market-based). Scope 3 emissions were substantial, totalling approximately 3.50 billion kg CO2e, with purchased goods and services representing the largest category at approximately 1.65 billion kg CO2e, followed by the use of sold products at approximately 853.28 million kg CO2e.

In 2023, total reported emissions were approximately 247.77 million kg CO2e for Scope 1 and 2 combined (market-based), with Scope 1 emissions at approximately 109.77 million kg CO2e and Scope 2 at approximately 138.00 million kg CO2e.

Danaher has set a significant long-term goal to reduce its Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 50.4% on an absolute basis by 2032, using 2021 as the baseline year. This target is aligned with the climate science goal of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, Danaher has committed to setting science-based GHG emission reduction targets through the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and aims to reach net-zero value chain emissions by no later than 2050.
