EasyJet, a GB-headquartered air transport services company, reported total carbon emissions of approximately 11.41 billion kg CO2e in 2025. This includes about 8.70 billion kg CO2e from Scope 1 emissions, 798,000 kg CO2e from Scope 2 emissions, and approximately 2.71 billion kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions. In 2024, total emissions were around 10.68 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at approximately 8.11 billion kg CO2e, Scope 2 at 284,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at about 2.56 billion kg CO2e. For 2023, total emissions were approximately 9.82 billion kg CO2e, comprising around 7.52 billion kg CO2e for Scope 1, 300,000 kg CO2e for Scope 2, and about 2.30 billion kg CO2e for Scope 3.
EasyJet is committed to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, a target it set after joining the UN-backed Race to Zero in November 2021. The company has also set an interim Science Based Target initiative (SBTi) approved target to reduce well-to-wake GHG emissions intensity related to jet fuel by 35% per revenue tonne kilometre (RTK) by fiscal year 2035, from a fiscal year 2019 base year. This intensity target covers all scopes. The SBTi classification for its near-term target is "Well-below 2°C". EasyJet plc also commits to publicly report on its collaboration with stakeholders to improve understanding of opportunities to mitigate the non-CO2e impacts of aviation annually over its target timeframe.
