Easyjet's reported carbon emissions
In 2025, EasyJet reported total carbon emissions of approximately 11.4 billion kg CO2e, comprising 8.7 billion kg CO2e from Scope 1, 798,000 kg CO2e from Scope 2, and 2.7 billion kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions. This marked an increase from 2024, where total emissions were about 10.7 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 emissions at approximately 8.1 billion kg CO2e, Scope 2 at 284,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at about 2.6 billion kg CO2e. In 2023, the total emissions were around 9.8 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at approximately 7.5 billion kg CO2e, Scope 2 at 300,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at about 2.3 billion kg CO2e. EasyJet has committed to significant climate action, aiming for net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. The airline has set an interim target to reduce well-to-wake greenhouse gas emissions related to jet fuel by 35% per revenue tonne kilometre (RTK) by FY2035, using FY2019 as the baseline. This target encompasses all scopes and includes biogenic emissions and removals from bioenergy feedstocks, while excluding non-CO2e effects that may contribute to aviation-induced warming. Additionally, EasyJet is aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and has committed to annual reporting on its collaboration with stakeholders to mitigate non-CO2e impacts of aviation. The company joined the UN-backed Race to Zero in November 2021, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and climate responsibility.
