Sopra Steria's total reported carbon emissions for 2025 were approximately 258.1 million kg CO2e. This includes about 1.9 million kg CO2e from Scope 1 emissions, 395,000 kg CO2e from Scope 2 (market-based), and approximately 255.8 million kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions.

Looking back, their total emissions were about 294.2 million kg CO2e in 2024, approximately 332.6 million kg CO2e in 2022, approximately 299.6 million kg CO2e in 2021, and about 235 million kg CO2e in 2020. In 2019, total emissions were around 389.3 million kg CO2e. Earlier data shows total emissions of approximately 45.2 million kg CO2e in 2018 and about 47.5 million kg CO2e in 2017.

Sopra Steria has set ambitious climate commitments validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The company aims to achieve net-zero GHG emissions across its value chain by 2040.

Near-Term Targets (SBTi):

• Reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 54% by 2030, from a 2019 base year.
• Reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 37.5% by 2030, from a 2019 base year.

Long-Term Targets (SBTi):

• Reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 90% by 2040, from a 2019 base year.
• Reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 90% by 2040, from a 2019 base year.

Previously, Sopra Steria had committed to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42% and Scope 3 GHG emissions from business travel and off-site data centres by 21% by 2025, from a 2015 base year. They also aimed for net-zero emissions by 2028 and that 70% of their suppliers by emissions would manage their GHG emissions, with 90% of those having GHG reduction targets by 2025.
