Mitie

Mitie, a UK-based real estate services company, reported total emissions of approximately 274.49 million kg CO2e in 2025. This includes about 16.84 million kg CO2e from Scope 1 emissions, 3.29 million kg CO2e from Scope 2 emissions, and approximately 254.36 million kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions. In the prior year, 2024, total emissions were approximately 294.71 million kg CO2e, comprising about 19.14 million kg CO2e from Scope 1, 2.23 million kg CO2e from Scope 2, and 273.34 million kg CO2e from Scope 3.

Mitie is committed to ambitious climate action, with Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validated targets. Mitie Group PLC aims to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its entire value chain by FY2046, using FY2017 as a base year.

Their near-term targets include reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 29.4% by FY2027 from a FY2022 base year. They also commit to continuing to source 100% renewable electricity annually through to FY2027. Furthermore, Mitie aims to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from fuel and energy-related activities, waste generated in operations, business travel, and employee commuting by 25.2% by FY2027 from a FY2022 base year. A key part of their Scope 3 strategy is to ensure that 60% of their suppliers by spend, covering purchased goods and services and upstream transportation and distribution, will have science-based targets by FY2027.

For long-term goals, Mitie Group PLC commits to reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 90% by FY2046 from a FY2022 base year, and also aims to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 90% within the same timeframe. Mitie has also signed The Climate Pledge, reinforcing their commitment to sustainability.
