Is there free government help to measure my company's carbon footprint?

In many countries, yes: free calculators and official emission factors. Find your country on this page. If it is not listed, the SME Climate Hub calculator is free and available in English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish and Arabic.

Can I get a grant to cut my business's energy use or emissions?

Often, yes. Each country page lists public grants, loans and tax allowances under “Pay for it”. In many countries the EBRD's Green Economy Financing Facilities also offer green loans through local partner banks.

My customer has asked for our emissions. Where do I start if my country is not listed?

Start with the free SME Climate Hub calculator for a first estimate. The GHG Protocol Corporate Standard explains the rules behind it, with translations into several languages on the same page.
