What emission factor should I use for electricity in Mexico?
Use the official factor in the Aviso factor de emisión del Sistema Eléctrico Nacional, published by SEMARNAT and CRE for electricity bought in Mexico. It is free and in Spanish.
Can a small business report its emissions voluntarily in Mexico?
Yes. The Programa GEI México: Inscripción, from SEMARNAT with CESPEDES, offers voluntary annual emissions reporting and recognition. It is free.
Is there financing for energy efficient equipment for SMEs in Mexico?
Yes. FIDE's Eco-Crédito Empresarial Masivo gives MSMEs credit to replace refrigeration, lighting and air conditioning and to install solar. CONUEE offers a free efficiency assessment.
