Common questions

Are there green loans for small businesses in Australia?

Yes. The Clean Energy Finance Corporation offers discounted green loans for equipment and vehicles through listed lenders: CEFC Consumer and business finance. In New South Wales, the Energy Savings Scheme NSW gives incentives for lighting, HVAC and refrigeration upgrades.

How do I make my packaging more sustainable in Australia?

Start with APCO's free Sustainable Packaging Guidelines, which set out design principles for more sustainable packaging. For plastic packaging, the ANZPAC Plastics Pact's Circular Principles for Packaging Design in the ANZPAC Region are also free.

What does Climate Active certification involve for a small business?

Climate Active, run by the Australian Government, sets requirements to measure, reduce, offset and certify, with simpler rules for small business: Climate Active certification requirements. Reading them is free; certification carries licence fees.
