Infosys, an IT services company headquartered in India, has demonstrated a commitment to reducing its carbon footprint. For the reporting year 2026, the company reported Scope 1 emissions of approximately 11.5 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of approximately 34.4 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions of approximately 207.4 million kg CO2e. In 2025, Infosys's total emissions were approximately 243.8 million kg CO2e, comprising Scope 1 emissions of about 7.2 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of approximately 55.9 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions of about 180.7 million kg CO2e. The company has set ambitious reduction targets. Infosys aims to reduce its absolute Scope 1 and 2 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 75% by fiscal year 2030 against a Business-As-Usual (BAU) scenario. Additionally, it is committed to reducing absolute Scope 3 emissions by 30% from a 2020 baseline year by fiscal 2030. The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has validated Infosys's commitments, including reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 12.5% by FY2025 and 37.5% by FY2035 from a FY2020 base year. The company also commits to reducing absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 12.5% by FY2025 and 37.5% by FY2035 from the same 2020 baseline. For a subsidiary, Infocus Technologies Private Limited, there is a commitment to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 42% by 2030 from a 2022 base year, aligning with a 1.5°C pathway.
