Tech Mahindra, an Indian Computer Systems Design Services company headquartered in IN, has reported its carbon emissions and set ambitious climate commitments.

For the year 2026, Tech Mahindra’s projected total gross emissions are approximately 114,143,660 kg CO2e. This includes Scope 1 emissions of about 9,601,190 kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of approximately 71,581,760 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions of around 33,960,710 kg CO2e. Key categories contributing to Scope 3 include employee commute (approximately 16,673,630 kg CO2e), fuel and energy-related activities (around 7,538,770 kg CO2e), and business travel (about 5,718,110 kg CO2e).

Looking back, in 2025, the company's total gross emissions were approximately 126,944,970 kg CO2e, comprising Scope 1 emissions of about 12,435,020 kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of around 76,735,040 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions of approximately 37,774,960 kg CO2e. In 2024, total gross emissions were about 113,514,790 kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at roughly 10,574,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 at about 68,088,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at around 34,852,790 kg CO2e.

Tech Mahindra has set several Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) approved targets:

• Near-Term Targets (1.5°C aligned): The company commits to reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 58.8% by FY2030, using FY2016 as a base year.
• Long-Term Targets (1.5°C aligned): Tech Mahindra aims to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 90% by FY2035 from a FY2016 base year. They also commit to reducing absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 90% by FY2035 from a FY2020 base year.
• Net-Zero Target: Tech Mahindra is committed to reaching net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain by FY2035.

The company is also a signatory to the Business Ambition for 1.5°C and aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. They project a 39% reduction in carbon emissions (Scope 1 and 2) to approximately 69,729 tonnes CO2e by 2025-26 from a 2021 baseline.
