For the reporting year 2025, TCS recorded approximately 601.9 million kg CO2e in Scope 1 and 2 emissions, with Scope 3 emissions amounting to roughly 523.8 million kg CO2e. In the preceding year, 2024, Scope 1 and 2 emissions were approximately 95.7 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions were around 494.7 million kg CO2e.

TCS has established ambitious climate commitments. The company is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2030. As an interim measure towards this goal, TCS has set a target to reduce its absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 70% by 2025, using the 2016 baseline year. Furthermore, TCS has committed to reducing absolute Scope 3 emissions by 35% by the fiscal year 2034, against a FY2020 baseline. These targets are aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for a 1.5°C warming pathway.

Historically, TCS has made strides in carbon footprint reduction. A past target aimed to reduce its specific carbon footprint by 50% by 2020 over the 2007-08 baseline, a goal which was reportedly achieved ahead of schedule.
