For the long term, Cognizant aims to reduce absolute Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions by 90% by 2040, also from a 2019 base year. These targets are considered consistent with keeping global warming to 1.5°C. Cognizant is also committed to obtaining 100% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2026.
