This figure follows previous years' emissions of approximately 71.26 billion kg CO2e in 2024, approximately 73.34 billion kg CO2e in 2023, approximately 83.84 billion kg CO2e in 2022, approximately 93.81 billion kg CO2e in 2021, and approximately 104.35 billion kg CO2e in 2020.

Progress has been noted in recent years, with Scope 1 and 2 emissions reducing by 33.19% in 2023 versus the 2018 baseline, largely due to increased renewable energy use and energy efficiency measures. Historically, Nestlé also had an intensity target to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions per tonne of product by 35% by 2020 compared to 2010 levels, and a 12% absolute reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions (versus 2014) by 2020.
