An earlier target, validated as "Well-below 2°C" by SBTi, included reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 27.5% by 2030 from a 2019 base year, and Scope 3 GHG emissions from fuel- and energy-related activities, upstream and downstream transportation and distribution, and end-of-life treatment of sold products by 15% by 2030 from a 2018 base year. The company also aimed for 70% of its suppliers by emissions to have science-based targets by 2024. Michelin also has a long-term goal to reduce the carbon emissions of its manufacturing operations by 50% in absolute value by 2050 compared to 2010.
