Euro Pool

Euro Pool, headquartered in the Netherlands and operating within the 'Other business services' sector, demonstrated a total carbon footprint of approximately 293 million kg CO2e in 2023. This figure encompasses Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions.

In 2023, Scope 1 emissions accounted for approximately 13 million kg CO2e, while Scope 2 emissions were approximately 5 million kg CO2e (market-based). Scope 3 emissions were the largest contributor, totalling approximately 276 million kg CO2e. Key contributors within Scope 3 included purchased goods and services (approximately 111 million kg CO2e) and upstream transportation and distribution (approximately 111 million kg CO2e).

Previously, in 2022, Euro Pool reported a total of approximately 339 million kg CO2e. Scope 1 emissions were around 16 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 (market-based) were approximately 7 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions were approximately 316 million kg CO2e.

Euro Pool has established several climate commitments. They aim for a 20% reduction in their carbon footprint per movement by 2025, using 2017 as a baseline. This target applies to both Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions.

Furthermore, through its SBTi commitments, Euro Pool has pledged to reduce its absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 50.2% by 2030, from a 2020 base year. They are also committed to reducing absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services and upstream transportation and distribution by 25% within the same timeframe. These SBTi targets are aligned with a 1.5°C warming scenario.
