Free Now's reported carbon emissions
Free Now, a computer and related services company headquartered in Germany, has set ambitious climate commitments. The company's Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) approved targets include reducing absolute Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 42% by 2030, from a 2021 base year. Additionally, Free Now commits to reducing Scope 3 GHG emissions by 52% per service kilometre within the same timeframe. These near-term targets are classified as consistent with a 1.5°C warming scenario. Free Now has also signed The Climate Pledge in February 2021.
In terms of emissions, Free Now reported its most recent Scope 2 and Scope 3 data for 2025 and 2024. For the year 2025, Free Now's Scope 2 emissions (location-based) were approximately 213,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions totalled about 74,467,000 kg CO2e. Key categories within Scope 3 for 2025 included approximately 72,593,000 kg CO2e from the use of sold products, 912,000 kg CO2e from business travel, and 272,000 kg CO2e from employee commuting.
