Synlab

Synlab, headquartered in Germany and operating in the Medical, precision and optical instruments, watches and clocks industry, reported total estimated emissions of approximately 407,711,000 kg CO2e for 2025. This includes about 18,934,000 kg CO2e from Scope 1 emissions, 11,065,000 kg CO2e from Scope 2 market-based emissions, and 377,712,000 kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions.

For 2024, Synlab's total estimated emissions were approximately 436,314,000 kg CO2e, with Scope 1 emissions at about 18,521,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 market-based emissions at around 12,206,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions at approximately 405,588,000 kg CO2e. In 2023, total estimated emissions were 442,173,000 kg CO2e, comprising roughly 19,929,000 kg CO2e in Scope 1, 11,527,000 kg CO2e in Scope 2 market-based emissions, and 410,717,000 kg CO2e in Scope 3.

Looking back, Synlab's Scope 1 and Scope 2 market-based emissions for 2022 were approximately 20,925,000 kg CO2e and 11,307,000 kg CO2e, respectively. For 2021, these figures were about 22,155,000 kg CO2e for Scope 1 and 16,535,000 kg CO2e for Scope 2.

Synlab has set a goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2025, aiming to reduce operational (Scope 1 and 2) GHG emissions year-on-year and offset remaining unavoidable emissions. Specifically, SYNLAB UK & Ireland also aims to be carbon neutral by 2025 for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. SYNLAB AG has committed to near-term targets with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
