Taisei

Taisei, a construction company headquartered in Japan, reported its most recent emissions data for 2023. Its Scope 1 emissions were 218,000,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions were 66,000,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions totalled 5,642,000,000 kg CO2e. Key Scope 3 categories included 3,632,000,000 kg CO2e from use of sold products and 1,655,000,000 kg CO2e from purchased goods and services.

Taisei has set near-term and long-term Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) commitments. The company commits to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42% by FY2030 from a FY2022 base year. Additionally, Taisei aims to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services and use of sold products by 25% within the same timeframe. For its long-term targets, Taisei commits to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 90% by FY2050 from a FY2022 base year, and absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services and use of sold products by 90% within the same timeframe. Taisei also commits to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by FY2050.
