The majority of this comprised Scope 3 emissions, amounting to about 16.9 billion kg CO2e from the use of sold products and approximately 32.3 billion kg CO2e from purchased goods and services. Other notable Scope 3 categories include fuel and energy-related activities at approximately 1.8 billion kg CO2e and processing of sold products at about 1.9 billion kg CO2e.

For 2024, total emissions were approximately 65.2 billion kg CO2e, including Scope 1 emissions of around 751.9 million kg CO2e and Scope 2 emissions of approximately 8.9 billion kg CO2e. Scope 3 emissions for 2024 were reported at about 55.6 billion kg CO2e.

In 2023, TCL Technology's total emissions reached approximately 60.5 billion kg CO2e. This included Scope 1 emissions of about 465.6 million kg CO2e and Scope 2 emissions (location-based) of approximately 8.5 billion kg CO2e. Scope 3 emissions in 2023 were around 51.5 billion kg CO2e.

The company's climate commitments include a goal for its operational emissions (Scope 1 and Scope 2) to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, as outlined in its Carbon Neutrality White Paper released in 2023. This paper also states a commitment to peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030. A specific near-term target has been set by Suzhou CSOT, a subsidiary, which joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and committed to reducing its absolute operational emissions by 42% by 2030 compared to 2023 levels.
