Company climate profile dataset: score and commitments
DitchCarbon Score, industry rank and fourteen climate commitment flags for any company, resolved live by name or identifier. Free API for platforms and tools.

What is the company climate profile dataset?
The company climate profile is the summary layer of a DitchCarbon organisation record: who the company is, how it scores, and what it has committed to. Each record carries the canonical organisation identity, the DitchCarbon Score with its industry percentile, industry rank, regional rank and the industry mean, and fourteen yes or no commitment flags covering the Science Based Targets initiative, CDP, The Climate Pledge, UN Global Compact Climate Champions, RE100, Climate Action 100+, Race to Zero, RSPO, PRI, Responsible Business Alliance, Responsible Minerals Initiative, Responsible Labor Initiative and EcoVadis, plus whether at least one reduction action is on record.
Who is it for?
Software platforms whose customers are procurement, sustainability or finance teams and who want a climate score and commitment record inside their own product: a supplier record, a counterparty view, a sourcing event or an onboarding check. Customers are asking for sustainability insight in the tools they use every day, and this dataset is the light way to deliver it without building a climate dataset of your own. It is free for many use cases, including embedding in a commercial product, on two conditions: the DitchCarbon logo is shown wherever the data appears, and each score links to the organisation's public profile on ditchcarbon.com.
Is it limited to companies already on file?
No. Post a company name, website, DUNS, LEI, ISIN or S&P Global identifier and the entity is resolved and profiled. Organisations already on file return at once; a company nobody has requested before is usually profiled within 24 hours, with its status updating as it is processed. The response names the record it matched and says whether that is the organisation requested, its parent or a subsidiary, so an ambiguous name never returns a silent mismatch.
What is the DitchCarbon Score?
A 0 to 100 measure of an organisation's climate standing, calculated from what it has disclosed and committed to, returned with its percentile within its industry, an industry rank and a regional rank, and the industry mean score for context. How the score is calculated is set out on the methodology page, and the full breakdown behind any score is on the organisation's public profile.
What is not in it?
Emissions figures, scope breakdowns, source documents, targets and history. Those are in the Scope 3 supplier emissions dataset and the full DitchCarbon API, which is licensed separately from this free dataset and needs a platform account.
DitchCarbon provides verified emissions data for over 2 million organisations, built on primary emissions data wherever it exists, so procurement, sustainability and finance teams can measure and act on supply chain and portfolio emissions from one source.

A 0 to 100 measure of an organisation's climate standing, calculated by DitchCarbon from what the organisation has disclosed and committed to, returned with its industry percentile, industry rank, regional rank and the industry mean score. How it is calculated is set out on the methodology page, and the full breakdown behind any score is on the organisation's public profile on ditchcarbon.com.
Yes. Embedding the score and commitment flags in a software product your customers pay for is within the free terms, on two conditions: the DitchCarbon logo is shown wherever the data appears, and each score links to the organisation's public profile on ditchcarbon.com. Reselling the data as a dataset, or using it inside a competing emissions data product, needs a licence.
No. It returns identity, the DitchCarbon Score and ranks, and fourteen yes or no commitment flags. Emissions by scope and category, emission factors, source documents, reduction targets and year on year history are in the full DitchCarbon API, which covers the same organisations, is licensed separately from this free dataset and needs a platform account.
Fourteen flags, each a yes or no. Thirteen initiatives: Science Based Targets initiative (committed or validated), CDP, The Climate Pledge, UN Global Compact Climate Champions, RE100, Climate Action 100+, Race to Zero, RSPO, PRI, Responsible Business Alliance, Responsible Minerals Initiative, Responsible Labor Initiative and EcoVadis. The fourteenth records whether the organisation has at least one reduction action on record. The same list appears on every public profile under Climate initiatives.
The SBTi dataset returns the detail of an organisation's science-based target: status, classification, target year and net zero commitment, snapshotted weekly from the SBTi register. The company climate profile returns a broader and shallower record: the score, the ranks and a yes or no across thirteen initiatives and reduction actions, SBTi among them. Platforms that surface the target detail use both, with one key.
By company name or website, or by a DUNS, LEI, ISIN or S&P Global identifier, with your own external ID carried on the record. Any company can be requested. Organisations already on file return at once; a new one is usually profiled within 24 hours, with its status updating as it is processed. The response names the record it matched and says whether that is the organisation requested, its parent or a subsidiary.
