What is a product carbon footprint (PCF)?

A product carbon footprint is the greenhouse gas emissions attributable to one unit of a product or service across a defined part of its life cycle. It is expressed per unit, for example kgCO2e per kilogram or per item, and is calculated under standards such as ISO 14067, the GHG Protocol Product Standard or PAS 2050.
