Carbon Emissions Data:

• 2024: AGC reported a total of approximately 16.713 billion kg CO2e, comprising Scope 1 emissions of about 5.781 billion kg CO2e and Scope 2 market-based emissions of approximately 4.132 billion kg CO2e. Scope 3 emissions amounted to about 6.860 billion kg CO2e, with purchased goods and services being the largest contributor at approximately 3.738 billion kg CO2e.
• 2023: Total emissions were approximately 15.951 billion kg CO2e. Scope 1 emissions were about 5.852 billion kg CO2e, and Scope 2 market-based emissions were approximately 4.017 billion kg CO2e. Scope 3 emissions totalled roughly 6.084 billion kg CO2e, with purchased goods and services at approximately 3.746 billion kg CO2e.
• 2022: Total emissions were approximately 17.708 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at about 5.968 billion kg CO2e and Scope 2 market-based emissions at approximately 4.770 billion kg CO2e. Scope 3 emissions were approximately 7.090 billion kg CO2e, and purchased goods and services accounted for about 4.004 billion kg CO2e.
• 2021: Total emissions were approximately 18.265 billion kg CO2e. Scope 1 emissions were around 6.880 billion kg CO2e, and Scope 2 market-based emissions were about 4.505 billion kg CO2e. Scope 3 emissions were approximately 7.065 billion kg CO2e.
• 2020: Total reported emissions were 22.859 billion kg CO2e. This included Scope 1 emissions of approximately 6.567 billion kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of about 4.576 billion kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions of approximately 11.715 billion kg CO2e. Key Scope 3 categories included end-of-life treatment of sold products (approximately 2.581 billion kg CO2e) and purchased goods and services (approximately 3.716 billion kg CO2e).
• 2019: Scope 1 and 2 emissions were approximately 11.650 billion kg CO2e.
• 2018: Scope 1 and 2 emissions totalled about 10.600 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at approximately 5.300 billion kg CO2e and Scope 2 at about 5.400 billion kg CO2e.
• 2017: Scope 1 and 2 emissions were approximately 10.472 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at about 5.100 billion kg CO2e and Scope 2 at approximately 5.400 billion kg CO2e. Scope 3 emissions were reported as 7.300 billion kg CO2e.

Climate Commitments and Reduction Targets:

AGC has set ambitious targets to mitigate climate change, including:

• Net-Zero Emissions by 2050: AGC aims to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, covering Scope 1 and Scope 2.
• Scope 1 and 2 Absolute Emissions Reduction: The company is working towards a 30% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2030, compared to a 2019 baseline year. This target is recognised as consistent with keeping warming to "Well-below 2°C" by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
• Scope 3 Emissions Reduction: AGC is targeting a 30% reduction in specific Scope 3 categories by 2030 (compared to 2019 levels). These categories include purchased goods and services, processing of sold products, use of sold products, and end-of-life treatment of sold products, which collectively represent approximately 70% of their Scope 3 emissions.
• Supplier Engagement: AGC aims to have 30% of its suppliers, representing key Scope 3 emission sources, obtain Science Based Targets (SBT)-validated targets by 2027.
