Air Liquide, a French industrial gas manufacturing company, reported total carbon emissions of approximately 58.4 billion kg CO2e in 2025. This includes Scope 1 emissions of about 1.46 billion kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of approximately 19.6 billion kg CO2e (market-based), and Scope 3 emissions of around 24.25 billion kg CO2e. For 2024, total emissions were around 58.18 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at 14.87 billion kg CO2e and Scope 2 at 20.06 billion kg CO2e (market-based), and Scope 3 at 23.24 billion kg CO2e.

Air Liquide is committed to achieving carbon neutrality across its entire value chain by 2050, with intermediate milestones. The company aims for a 33% absolute reduction in Scope 1 and 2 CO2 emissions by 2035, compared to a 2020 baseline. Additionally, Air Liquide targets a 30% reduction in carbon intensity (kg CO2-eq./euro EBITDA) by 2025, against a 2015 baseline for both Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. The company also commits to reducing absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from the use of fossil fuel products sold by 60% by 2035 from a 2021 baseline. These targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and are classified as consistent with reductions required to keep warming to well-below 2°C.
