This figure comprises about 295 million kg CO2e from Scope 1 emissions, approximately 1.36 billion kg CO2e from Scope 2 market-based emissions, and about 2.31 billion kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions.

In 2024, the company's total emissions were approximately 4.07 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at around 312 million kg CO2e, market-based Scope 2 at approximately 1.30 billion kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at about 2.40 billion kg CO2e. Looking back to 2023, América Móvil's total emissions were approximately 4.42 billion kg CO2e, including about 321 million kg CO2e for Scope 1, approximately 1.49 billion kg CO2e for market-based Scope 2, and around 2.52 billion kg CO2e for Scope 3.

América Móvil has set ambitious climate commitments. The company is committed to achieving net-zero emissions by no later than 2050, consistent with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) criteria. In 2020, América Móvil's near-term targets were validated by the SBTi. These include a commitment to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 52% by 2030, from a 2019 base year. Additionally, the company aims to reduce its absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 14% by 2030, also from a 2019 base year. For reference, in 2019, América Móvil's reported total emissions were approximately 5.27 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at about 310 million kg CO2e, market-based Scope 2 at approximately 1.97 billion kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at about 2.90 billion kg CO2e. The company has also outlined a mid-term reduction target to decrease Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 19% by 2025 (versus 2019 levels) as part of its Sustainability Linked Loan.
