Arauco's reported carbon emissions

Arauco, headquartered in Chile and operating in the wood and wood products industry, has reported significant carbon emissions and established ambitious climate commitments. For the fiscal year 2024, Arauco's total reported emissions amounted to approximately 6.14 billion kg CO2e. This figure comprises approximately 1.47 billion kg CO2e for Scope 1 emissions, about 285 million kg CO2e for Scope 2 emissions, and approximately 4.38 billion kg CO2e for Scope 3 emissions. This translates to an absolute reduction of 40.4%. The company also aims for a 35.1% reduction in Scope 3 GHG emissions per dry ton of wood by 2030, covering a range of upstream and downstream activities. Furthermore, Arauco has stated a commitment to reducing its emissions by over 1.5 million tonnes by 2030.
